Ponchatoula, Louisiana

The City of Ponchatoula is the oldest incorporated city in Tangipahoa Parish. 

Ponchatoula derives its name from the Choctaw Indian language meaning "hair to hang" because of the abundance of Spanish moss on the trees surrounding the area.
